Lambro Park and Istituto ENAIP Milano at the centre of a corporate volunteering activity by REVO Insurance employees

Volunteering operation for about 100 employees, 45 kg of garbage collected

Milan, 14 September 2023 - As part of its commitment to environmental and social sustainability, REVO Insurance organised an initiative yesterday that saw its employees go to work on improving the spaces of the ENAIP Institute and cleaning up Lambro Park in Milan. The goal of the volunteer work was to make a concrete, useful contribution to the community and area. The project was organised with the support of Legambiente and is part of the larger volunteer programme REVOlunteer day 2023, which involved all the Company's employees at the national level, demonstrating with concrete actions the attention and care devoted to the community and areas in which they work.

From an environmental point of view, the activity involved the cleaning and recovery of a degraded area of Lambro Park, one of the largest in the city, with a particular focus on the removal of cigarette butts. Cleaning the area resulted in the collection of around 45 kg of waste in a few hours, including 1.5 kg of cigarette butts. These items are often missed during normal cleaning activities, but can have a significant impact on the surrounding ecosystem.

The operation is part of a wider Legambiente project called Park Litter, which involves monitoring the state of health of urban green areas, surveying the amount and type of waste found in public areas, and also providing a measure of community engagement in ensuring that the environment is respected.

The social side of the project concerned the recovery of some areas of the ENAIP Institute, which aims to promote the professional and civil development of individuals and the social integration of those at risk of marginalisation. The REVO team's improvement efforts involved restoring the green areas around the facility, pruning and uprooting overly invasive vegetation, and cleaning and repainting the classrooms.

Both volunteer initiatives involved over 100 employees, who provided approximately 8 hours of work in the two activities.

“We are very pleased with the work done today. We would like to thank the employees at our offices in Verona, Milan, and Genoa, as well as the volunteers from Legambiente, with whom we hope to collaborate again. The effort made today is the same as that reflected every day in our work alongside our brokers and for our clients,” emphasised Alberto Minali, REVO's Chief Executive Officer.

REVO's volunteering aims to create value for local communities, through the active participation of employees, who are personally involved in projects to safeguard the local area and society. For this reason, REVO intends to continue to promote similar actions in the future, committing itself to the community in which it operates.
